What a view! Lie back in the comfortable bed of your glass cabin and gaze up into the stars of infinite space. Maybe the evening skies will be blessed by the appearance of the fabled Aurora Borealis?
This experience combines two of Lapland’s most iconic highlights: the abundant reindeer, and the mesmerising Northern Lights. Your glass cabin is one of only four, located in the centre of a traditional reindeer ranch, perched at the foot of an imposing fell and surrounded by the snowy Lapland wilderness. The views from the glass ceiling are spectacular and ideal for savouring the beauty of the location: by night, the Northern Light’s candescent colours of light swirl above, and by dawn the sweeping panorama is dominated by the Arctic tundra illuminated by the pink-tinged skies. During your stay you’ll be surrounded by some of the many thousands of reindeer which call Lapland home – they’ll be curious to meet their neighbours for the night.
Imagine travelling hundreds of kilometres deep inside the Arctic Circle, where the frozen landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. There, perched in the midst of a snowy desert, is a reindeer ranch where time-old traditions of reindeer herding still prevail. Lapland’s oldest icon is now joined by its newest attraction: the glass igloo, and the two seem to endure the frozen lands together comfortably. Reindeer are naturally cautious and timid but are content to wander amongst the small cluster of glass igloos at their leisure. As they meander around the cabins and cast silhouettes against the glow of the Northern Lights, the very presence of your four-legged neighbours serves as a reminder of time-honoured Lapland customs. After all, it has been their home for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
The Reindeer Reserve Glass Cabin stay can be added to any of our Aurora Hunter tours and selected Northern Lights or Simply Arctic tours, all of which are part of our Arctic Spirit collection. Transfers to the ranch are included and the night of your stay is shown on your tour itinerary, which is given to you upon arrival in Lapland. The transfer time is around 45 minutes from Karesuando. Each stay includes dinner and breakfast on the reindeer ranch. The cabins are equipped with a king-size bed and an extra sleeper chair for one person. There is an en-suite shower room and WC which includes a complimentary selection of shower room products.
Please note that availability is very limited and the stay should be added to the tour before departure.
