Transun Lapland launch 2009

Children's dreams come true as they meet Santa in his magical Lapland home,

Transun launches new generation of Lapland breaks.

A trip to Lapland to see Santa Claus is a once in a lifetime dream come true for any child – now expert specialist tour operator Transun has launched its latest programme to northern Lapland to ensure the experience lives up to that dream.

The new Santa’s Lapland brochure of has been launched early for 2009 so that families can book ahead and ensure their children get a Santa experience they will never forget.

With over 25 years experience, up-market operator Transun’s Lapland day and short breaks programmes leave behind over commercialised centres such as Roveniemi and takes its Santa-seekers far north of the Arctic Circle where its exclusive resorts are deep in the heart of snowbound Lapland, home to the reindeer herding Sami people.

Finding Santa on a Transun break starts out with a Snowmobile ride through the quiet and uncommercialised Enontekio region, 1000 Kms north of the Finnish capital Helsinki, and then switch to a reindeer sleigh for the final ride to Santa’s log cabin.

Every family has a personal meeting with the great man who – if he has been briefed in advance by Mum and Dad – will know who has been good, what they have been up to, and what they are looking forward to for Christmas.

On top of all this Transun also offers and exciting range of extra cost activities ranging from Northern Lights Snowmobile and Husky trips, ice fishing, a husky puppy trip, husky ‘mushing’, Reindeer herding and even a night in an Igloo kept warm by real Reindeer skins.

Transun’s commercial manager Nico Kostich said: “This is the one holiday experience that simply has to live up to its promise – and it is a terrible shame that over commercialisation has spoiled the dream for so many children. This is why we keep our trips well away from the overcrowded purpose built resorts. The quality of their experience is reflected in our upmarket new brochure and we guarantee that everything is done to ensure that no one is disappointed”.
