Davvi Arctic Lodge
A warm welcome will await you and your guests at the Davvi Arctic Lodge. This charming, simple hotel is set on a quiet, secluded hillside in the border village of Karesuando. The beautiful restaurant, its circular design inspired by the shape of a Sami reindeer corral, is the hotel’s centrepiece and there you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the snow-covered hillside across the border to Swedish Lapland. This welcoming hotel offers a range of rooms, cabins and larger apartments meaning we will have something to suit your needs.
New for this year, the Davvi Arctic Lodge now offers comfortable designer accommodation for those who would like to enjoy something extra special. The Aurora House takes your Arctic experience to new levels, with a choice of superior and deluxe rooms to choose from, each equipped with added comforts for your stay. With a total of just four units, these exclusive rooms are perfect for the bridal party.
This is sumptuous Scandinavian chic, a standard unparalleled within the Davvi Arctic Lodge and rarely found elsewhere in Finland. For the ultimate in comfort, the whole house can be booked, offering two spacious suites, each with its own private entrance.
The Deluxe room is perfect for two. This cosy, double room comes complete with underfloor heating, free standing bath, double sinks, sauna and modern wood-burning stove. The room is accessed via a lobby shared with just one other room. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
The superior room offers spacious, contemporary design. Both underfloor heating and a wood burning stove can be found inside this room, along with tea and coffee making facilities.
For the ultimate in comfort, the full suite can be used. With the deluxe room as the master bedroom, the superior room adapts into a chic living room, also providing a second bathroom. With the full suite taken, you will also benefit from a private entrance and cloakroom to store your thermal outwear.
The hotel has just 25 rooms, spread over two floors. In addition to both double and twin rooms, many rooms also contain an additional sofa bed, which can be used for up to two children if required.
Nestled within the grounds of the Davvi Arctic Lodge are a selection of timber-built cabins. These traditional timber buildings are cosy and all are en suite (shower, WC) with a private sauna. All cabins are conveniently situated just metres from the main hotel building, where meals can be taken.
These semi-detached cabins are simple and cosy, with an open plan layout; there is a double (or twin) bed plus a sofa bed.
There are two large, detached two-bedroom cabins that can sleep up to six. These larger cabins comprise of one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, as well as a sofa bed in the living area that can take upto two children if required.
The Fell House provides spacious rooms that are ideal for families. The Fell House is located approximately 150m from the main Davvi Arctic Lodge hotel building and is connected by a purpose built footpath through the forest, which is on an incline with steps and may not be suitable for the elderly or people with walking difficulties. The Fell House offers two and three bedroom units, all with their own living rooms equipped with larger than standard TV screens showing local programmes only.
