Fosshotel Baron***
The Fosshotel Baron is a modern, centrally-located hotel in downtown Reykjavik, only a short stroll to the sea front.
Built in 2002, there are 66 standard en-suite rooms offering sea views over the Reykjavik bay. There are also 21 'historical' rooms, decorated in an 1890-1910 style, themed in honour of the French baron who then lived in the building. All rooms have a television, DVD player and telephone.
The hotel features a breakfast room, bar, elevator, internet corner with free access, laundry and tour desk. All guestrooms and restaurant/bar facilities are non-smoking.
Fosshotel Lind***
Conveniently situated, this friendly hotel is only a one-minute walk from the city's main shopping street and only a short stroll from the Reykjavik Municipal Art Museum.
The hotel comprises 78 standard rooms with shower/wc, wireless internet, flat-screen TV, DVD player, radio and telephone. Security boxes are located either in the rooms or in the reception. Hotel Reykjavik Centrum****
The Reykjavik Centrum is an excellent new hotel in the heart of the city, opened in April 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik's oldest streets, Adalstraeti, in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. The hotel spreads over three buildings and is designed in the style found in Reykjavik around 1900. During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse were found. In 2006 an exhibition opened under the hotel, where the longhouse's remains are displayed together with related exhibits.
The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, internet access, mini bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea and coffee facilities. All rooms have en-suite facilities with shower or bath. Hotel Reykjavik Centrum offers first-class services, including room and porter service.
