Traditions and customs have evolved over the generations, and this includes the traditional wedding gift list. While there will always be a place for John Lewis’s iconic gift list it is becoming increasingly popular for newlyweds to ask their loved ones to leave the toasters and towel bales for couples that need them and instead contribute to their honeymoon. We think this is a great idea and we are sure that your guests will too, after all buying a china dinner set is nowhere near as satisfying as booking the happy couple a private dining experience to enjoy post wedding.
How does it work?
This is a very important question. There are two options:
Your guests can contribute cash to your booking, which will then reduce your total balance or be refunded back to you should you have already paid the total balance.
Alternatively, they can book optional extras. These gifts will vary from destination to destination and can be personalised. For example, these could include flight or room upgrades, spa treatments, romantic dinners or optional excursions such as mushing a team of huskies in the Arctic wilderness.
Please note the total balance is due 10 weeks prior to departure. Any additional cash contributions made after this date that are not being used against your balance will be refunded back to you.
