At Transun Travel, we have earned a reputation for developing and delivering unique holiday experiences. We¹ve taken clients whale watching in Arctic Norway and to the opera in St Petersburg. We¹ve operated day trips to Marrakesh and Cairo - and still been back home for bedtime! And we continue to lead the way in taking families from all over the UK to visit Santa in his magical Lapland home each December.
After over 25 years of successful tour operating, we continue to go from strength to strength. We¹ve just launched a new range of Arctic Spirit holidays where you can stay in an igloo, experience a husky safari, or go in search of the Northern Lights by snowmobile. Within this role you will be responsible for:
• Dealing with the setup, implementation and controlling the substantial resort operation from November until March in Lapland.
• Delivery of the activity programme
• Developing relationships with the local suppliers
• Contracting hotels and suppliers
• Staff management
• Creating and maintaining budget
• Delivering a profitable programme
• Airport liaison
• Maintenance of the company equipment and controlling the stock
Given the nature and responsibilities of this role we are looking for an individual with skills across:
• Implementation of similar products within the travel industry, be it Hotel or resort environments
• Strong administrative, financial and organisations skills
• Planning and logistical abilities
• Staff management and control
• Buying skills
You will need to be self-motivated, a team player and confident in your abilities to lead. This role requires an open mind, the ability to organise and communicate effectively whilst been able to delegate accordingly. You will need to have a good grasp of planning / logistics and be able to make changes / decisions as and when necessary and most of time on the spot and be able to communicate these changes to the team and all suppliers efficiently.
This is a permanent positions in our Oxford office. Flexibility will be required as you will be based overseas during the key operational periods.
