Head Chef

The role requires an experienced head chef, used to running a large kitchen, to be based in the Davvi Arctic Lodge in Finnish Lapland. You responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and the timely production of high quality food.  A budget will be agreed and you will be tasked with maintaining the budge for your kitchen. In doing so, you will be responsible for ordering food, organising your team and ensuring quality, presentation and cleanliness of the kitchen. Meals will be a combination of a la carte and buffet for approx 100- 150 guests.

 

You will need to be self-motivated, a team player and confident in your abilities to lead. This role requires an open mind, the ability to organise and communicate effectively whilst been able to delegate accordingly. You will need to have a good grasp of planning / logistics and be able to make changes / decisions as and when necessary and most of time on the spot and be able to communicate these changes to the team and all suppliers efficiently

 

During the operational period the role will involve long working hours with little breaks or time off therefore endurance and the ability to work under pressure while presenting a pleasant demeanour at all times is crucial. You will be on call 24/7 and will be fully supported by your team.
