Staff Chef / Cook

The role requires an experienced chef/cook, used to running kitchen, to be based in the Davvi Arctic Lodge in Finnish Lapland and to cook for the large staff team. You responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and the timely production of quality food.  A budget will be agreed and you will be tasked with working with the head chef to decide the menus and cook with in the budget set. You will be full responsible for all aspects of the kitchen including the preparation, cooking, serving and cleaning.

 

You will need to be self-motivated, a team player and confident in your abilities to lead. This role requires an open mind, the ability to organise and communicate effectively whilst been able to delegate accordingly. You will need to have a good grasp of planning / logistics and be able to make changes / decisions as and when necessary and most of time on the spot and be able to communicate these changes to the team and all suppliers efficiently.

 

During the operational period the role will involve long working hours with little breaks or time off therefore endurance and the ability to work under pressure while presenting a pleasant demeanour at all times is crucial. You will be on call 24/7 and will be fully supported by your team.

 

Requirements

·          Qualification or proven ability in the catering industry
