It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Posted By Oliver Hardy on 02/12/2013

If you haven’t seen anything remotely Christmassy yet, then the likelihood is you’re either locked in a dark cupboard somewhere, or you’ll have at least heard the grumblings of a Scrooge muttering something like: “But it’s not even December yet!!”!

Bah Humbug we say! We won’t let the naysayers detract from our festive spirit anytime soon- and neither should you, so here are 24 things (one for each day of the advent calendar, genius-we know) that get us all giddy for the Christmas season here at Transun. Let us know of any you think should have made the cut.

- Festive Treats- Bailey’s coffee, mince pies, gingerbread- what’s your favourite treat?!

- Christmas Theme–Red cups in Starbucks, elves in stores and everything else magically morphing into Christmassy colours.

- Seasonal change- Did you know in Britain’s worst winter ever saw the Thames freeze over for two months, with an 11 inch thick layer of ice!!

- Christmas TV- Coca Cola ad! (Holidays are comin), the Queen’s speech, Royle Family etc.!

- Alcohol- Mulled wine, Winter Pimms what’s your favourite winter tipple?!

- Mistletoe- Got anyone in mind for a cheeky smooch?

- Smells- Cinnamon is a no-brainer, but how do your nostrils know it’s Noël?!

- Open Fires- perfect for toasting marshmallows, family board games, charades, you name it!

- Christmas Events- Winter wonderland in Hyde Park, pantomimes, Christmas markets, to name but a few.

- Christmas Paraphernalia – Wreaths, candles, tinsel, baubles, advent calendars…

- Santa Claus- Wish lists are written, reindeer take flight and mince pies and carrots are mysteriously left half eaten through the night as Santa hurriedly delivers toys to the world.

- Christmas Songs- Mariah Carey, Shakin’ Stevens, George Michael, Slade and BandAid make our Christmas Have we missed any classics?!

-Christmas Clothing- Winter ‘fashion’, reindeer socks, winter hats and festive jumpers suddenly become must-haves. Worst jumper pictures very welcome!

- Carol Singing- 'tis the season to be jolly after all!

- Snow- If Britain gets its usual no-show, there is plenty of the untouched variety going spare in Lapland!

- Christmas Cards- a great way to spread the festive cheer, although only 15% are bought by men -Scrooges!

-Christmas trees- ‘coloured lights or white lights’ is always the hot topic of families countrywide, but which do you choose?
