Short breaks from £795 per adult

A team of eager huskies awaits on our husky expedition. Travelling by husky is a tradition that stretches back for 4000 years and is one of the most memorable and authentic of arctic experiences. As the feet of the dogs pound through the perfect silence of the snow-drenched environment, the safari brings you in to unforgettable intimacy with arctic nature. You'll take care of your own team of dogs and help to prepare the meals by open fire or at simple huts deep in the wilderness. The 4 and 7 night breaks include a three-day husky safari. The shorter 3 night break includes a two-day safari. We venture deep into the arctic wilderness and stay overnight in simple wilderness cabins.

Husky Safari Expedition itinerary

4 NIGHT ITINERARY
Day 1:

Fly from the UK in the morning. Arrive at your hotel in the afternoon. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or book an optional excursion (extra cost). We recommend the Snowmobile Panorama (1.5hrs). Dinner at your hotel. Overnight at your hotel. Meals: D.

Husky Safari Expedition
Day 2:

In the morning you will meet the dogs and receive instruction on their care and how to handle the sled before departing on your Expedition. Only the swish of the sleds runner breaking through the snow will disturb the perfect silence and one very quickly realises that you have well and truly left behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We will be covering about 40km per day. Lunch is taken by an open fire en route to a wilderness cabin where you can relax in a sauna before dinner and bed. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 3:

On the second leg of your adventure you will pass through forests, across fells and over frozen lakes. You'll take lunch by open fire before reaching your wilderness cabin where you'll spend another night in the wilderness. This far north, you have a great chance of seeing the Northern Lights. If it's a clear night, the sky may provide a picture show that you'll never forget. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 4:

In the morning (and every morning) everybody takes care of their own dogs. Breakfast is prepared together and we go for our last day through the fells and frozen Arctic landscape. By the afternoon we will reach our destination. Dinner at your hotel. Overnight at your hotel. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 5:

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be free to relax for the rest of the morning. There may be time for an optional excursion. Perhaps a snowmobile safari or a reindeer ride. Transfer to airport for your return flight. Meals: B.

Wilderness Cabins

This is a real wilderness experience and you'll stay in genuine wilderness cabins. Generally speaking, the cabins are basic (without electricity or running water) and with outside WC, but this is all part of the experience - especially once dinner is cooking over an open fire. The cabins are heated by log fires, generally lit by candles and most have a wood heated sauna so you can relax and warm up before dinner. They are usually so remote that there is little or no light pollution, creating the best possible chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

3 NIGHT ITINERARY

Designed for those who prefer a shorter, action-packed stay, the three-night short break follows the same itinerary as the four-night programme above, with a two-day husky safari instead of the three-day alternative.

7 NIGHT ITINERARY

Ideal for those who prefer a longer stay with more time either to relax or to choose from a whole host of exciting optional extra activities. The seven-night programme follows the four-night itinerary with extra days at leisure with optional activities available to book.
