Arctic Spirit
Quality short breaks inside the Arctic Circle
Experience the true winter wilderness.
Enjoy a winter break in the Arctic wilderness, where the snow-clad countryside stretches for miles around you, in a land where the sun utterly vanishes in winter and everything freezes and turns white, teased occasionally by the Northern Lights flaring up their dazzling beams of green and rose. This is the land of Sami tribes, reindeer and huskies, where you can witness the undisturbed power of nature, and where the beauty and exhilaration and, of course, the cold, cold air, combine to take your breath away. In midwinter and early spring, the snow is at its most crisp, the countryside is at its most tranquil and the opportunities for activities are at their most varied. Our Arctic Spirit short breaks are specially tailored to provide unique experiences, crowd free resorts and often spectacular attractions for the perfect winter holiday with a difference.

Winter holidays inside the Arctic Circle

Dates and Departure airports
In 2009, we have departures for all four programmes from fifteen regional airports across the UK. Departures run from mid-January through to the end of March.
Convenient, direct flights
All the flights are direct to Lapland. This saves a considerable amount of time compared to scheduled services which usually involve at least two changes and the total travelling time can add on a day at either end of your holiday. (Selected departures from Gatwick fly via Manchester both ways.)
Ideal and convenient lengths of stay
All the short breaks on our Arctic Winter Wonderland programme last for three, four or seven nights. This gives you the flexibility to enjoy the length of stay that will best suit you.
Board basis
The meals included on each holiday are clearly indicated in the following itineraries. Most are full board, starting with dinner on the day of your arrival. The Lapland Experience short break is on a half-board basis, but lunches are available for you to buy. Meals are normally catered as a buffet service.
Optional activities
We have carefully selected a wide range of optional activities. These will be available to view and book online shortly. All additional activities must be pre-booked in the UK, as most will not be available if they are not booked in advance.
Keeping Warm
We provide full thermal clothing but we recommend you take your own warm clothing and wear at least two layers under the provided thermal suit.
Age requirements
The Family Snow Fun Adventure break in this brochure is specially designed for families with children aged 3 to 12. (Some of the additional options may not be suited for very young children.)
We recommend that children on the Arctic Spirit and Northern Lights break are at least 5 and that the minimum age for the Husky Expedition is 17.
To try 'mushing' on the shorter husky rides, children should be at least 12. On longer safaris, normally anybody over 16 may handle the dog team. On snowmobile safaris drivers must be at least 17 years of age with a valid driving licence. Children under 17 may sit behind the driver, while younger children will sit in a sledge pulled by the guide.
Value for money
The short breaks in this programme all represent excellent value for money. Working together with charter airlines and local suppliers in Lapland, we are able to bring you Arctic winter breaks packed with actvities at a much better price and with far less hassle than would be available to you if you were to attempt to recreate a similar holiday without booking through a tour operator. And since we are ABTA bonded and licensed by ATOL, we conform to strict industry standards and you can rest assured that your money is fully protected.
